How to Burn a Candle Properly

Proper candle care ensures a beautiful flame, a longer burn time, and clean fragrance diffusion. By following a few simple guidelines, you can fully enjoy the quality and atmosphere of your LuxVela candle.

Wick Care

Before each burn:

Trim the wick to 0.5–1 cm (¼–⅜ inch)
This ensures a steady flame and clean burning.

❗ If the wick is too long:

• the flame becomes too large
• smoke may appear
• the candle burns faster

First Burn

During the first use, allow the candle to burn until the wax:

👉 melts evenly to the edges of the vessel

This prevents:

• tunneling
• uneven burning

⏱ Typically: 1–3 hours

Burn Time

Ideal burning time: 2–4 hours
Do not burn longer than 4 hours

This helps to:

• preserve the fragrance
• prevent overheating

How to Extinguish a Candle Properly

Best methods:

• use a lid
• use a candle snuffer
• dip the wick into the melted wax and straighten it again

❗ Avoid blowing out the candle — it creates smoke
